Downers Grove BBQ Bolt Run Set For Aug. 29
The 2020 race will feature a 5K and one-mile run and walk in addition to a virtual race option.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove BBQ Bolt Run will go on despite the new coronavirus pandemic, but organizers have added a virtual option for those who want to participate at a distance.
The Aug. 29 race will include the virtual option, a 5K run and a mile run at McCullom Park, 6801 Main St., Downers Grove.
BBQ Bolt Run/Walk Coordinator Darby Beasley said in a statement, "The Downers Grove Park District is thrilled offer this opportunity for families to enjoy some outdoor exercise this summer. We are working diligently to create a safe, enjoyable experience while following the state guidelines. For those who might not be ready for an in-person event, we have developed a virtual race option for families."

Participants can click the link to register for the BBQ Bolt Run through Aug. 27.
The park district is also seeking volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers get a complimentary breakfast snack and a t-shirt at the event.
