Andrew Hoff, Scott Sohn, and Quinn Triplett received an Award For Valor for their heroic efforts during a February 2017 fire.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Three Downers Grove firefighters/paramedics received an Award of Valor for their courageous rescue efforts during a large residential fire in February 2017. Andrew Hoff, Quinn Triplett, and Scott Sohn rushed into the house to remove a resident who was trapped on the second floor of the home.

The ceremony was held as part of the 100 Club of DuPage County's Annual Meeting and Valor Awards Night. 100 Club President Lisa Savegnago called the men "extraordinary individuals" for their "quick thinking, selflessness, and exceptional courage."

According to a post on the village's website, Downers Mayor Martin Tully was in attendance and also praised the firefighters. He said, "The bravery exhibited by Firefighter/Paramedics Triplett, Sohn and Hoff, is just one of the reason why the entire Downers Grove Fire Department is held in such high regard."
