Downers Grove Gets AAA Bond Rating From S&P Once Again

Downers Grove was one of just 20 places in the state to be awarded S&P Global's highest rating.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Village of Downers Grove has once again received an AAA bond rating from S&P Global, village officials announced Tuesday. The village's bond rating, the highest available, was attributed in part to its very strong management and economy, officials said.

"This outstanding municipal bond rating is directly attributable to the Village's efforts to be a steward of financial sustainability which benefits all residents and businesses," Mayor Martin Tully said in a statement.

According to the news release, Downers Grove was one of just 20 municipalities in the state to be awarded the AAA bond rating. The village has consistently been awarded this highest rating every year since 2013.
