Downers Grove Library Hosts Programs for Money Smart Week

Increase your financial knowledge during Money Smart Week, March 30 through April 6, with free programs featuring financial experts.

The Downers Grove Public Library will host four programs designed to address common areas of financial concern during Money Smart Week.

Home Buying 101 on Mon., April 1, at 11:00 a.m. will help potential home buyers decide if purchasing a home is the right option for them. The program will outline steps to prepare for this major purchase, including what to avoid as a buyer. Participants will also learn how to navigate the mortgage process and what options are available for financing.

On Tues., Apr. 2, at 2:00 p.m. the program Estate Planning will inform participants on the advantages of estate planning, regardless of financial status. The important of documenting personal wishes will be discussed as well.

Smart Budgeting for All Households is the subject of the program on Wed., Apr. 3, at 1:30 p.m. Lori Ritzert, Vice President of the Community Bank of Downers Grove will present tips on budgeting and saving.

A representative from Morningstar will lead a tutorial on Thurs., Apr. 4, at 3:00 p.m. on how to use the Morningstar database available through the library. This premier subscription tool can help investors conduct in-depth research.
