DG North Girls Swim and Dive Wins First-Ever State Team Trophy

The Downers Grove North Lady Trojans Swim and Dive team capped a record-breaking season with a second-place finish in state the weekend of Nov. 23–24. 

Downers Grove North finished just 3.5 points behind state champion New Trier—with a total of 157. The team grabbed four state championship titles, and broke three pool records along the way. Pool records were set by Gabby Sims in the 100 backstroke; the 200 Medley Relay, by Gabby Sims, Gaby Serniute, Maddy Sims and Emily Albrecht; and the 400 Freestyle Relay, by Emily Albrecht, Lindsay Mathys, Maddy Sims and Gabby Sims.

The placing wraps an unforgettable season for the Lady Trojans, who also won their first-ever conference championship  and swept every event at their sectional meet.
