Downers Grove North Girls Swimming Take Fourth Place in Mustang Challenge

Downers Grove North finished with 324.5 points, while St. Charles East won the invitational with 516.5 points.

Downers Grove North finished in fourth place at the 19th Annual Mustang Challenge, held at Downers Grove South High School on Oct. 3-4.

Downers Grove North finished with 324.5 points, while St. Charles East won the invitational with 516.5 points. Sophomore Emily Aument set a meet and pool record in 1-meter diving, finishing with 490.30 points.

Seniors Gabriele Serniute and Emily Albrecht also set meet records in the 200 IM and 50 free, respectively. Serniute (200 IM and 100 breaststroke) and sophomore Lindsay Mathys (100 and 200 freestyle) won two individual events. Serniute, Albrecht and Mathys joined with freshman Ellie Benge to win the 400 freestyle relay as well.
