Downers Grove North Girls Swimming Wins IHSA York Sectional

In record-setting fashion, Downers Grove North won the IHSA York Sectional girls swim meet on November 15, 2014 with 229 points, 18 more than York.

DGN set pool records in the following events: 1 meter diving (both Emily and Elizabeth Aument broke the previous pool record in finishing first and second), 200 medley relay (Emily Albrecht, Gabriele Serniute, Daria Wick and Lindsay Mathys), 50 free (where Emily Albrecht also broke her own school record), 100 free (Lindsay Mathys) and 200 free relay (Daria Wick, Emily Albrecht, Gabriele Serniute and Lindsay Mathys).

Additionally, Gabriele Serniute won the 200 IM and Gabriele Serniute, Emily Albrecht, Cassandra Candel and Lindsay Mathys won the 400 free relay. Also qualifying for the IHSA State Final next weekend at Evanston were Ellie Benge and Daria Wick in the 100 butterfly.
