Downers Grove Oktoberfest Brings Brats, Brews Downtown
This year's festivities include live music, kids' games, and a bratwurst eating contest.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Lederhosen, bratwurst, and bier will be out in full swing in downtown Downers Grove for the village's 5th Annual Oktoberfest on Sept. 14 and 15. At the 2018, Downers Grove Oktoberfest, guests can expect to find authentic German eats, live music, and special events that even include a brat eating contest.
Vendors and exhibits will be set up near the intersection of Main Street and Burlington Avenue, just west of the downtown Downers Grove train station. Chefs will be slinging German favorites that include bratwurst, potato salad, Bavarian pretzels, sauerkraut, and, of course, beer.
This year's Downers Grove Oktoberfest features Konig Ludwig beer, Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Warsteiner Pilsner Beer, and another seasonal brews.

The jam-packed weekend features a number of local artists, including ARRA, the Wayne Messmer Jazz Trio, and North of Eight. When kids aren't dancing to tunes, they can find inspiration of their own interactive "Kids' Zone" on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
If you're not sure which day to attend Oktoberfest, go to both or pick a special event and make sure to go on the same day. Saturday brings a donut eating contest and a brat eating contest for those with an appetite for competition.
