Downers Grove Park District Appoints New Executive Director
Michael Gianatasio will take over the role of Downers Grove Park District Executive Director amid Bill McAdam's retirement.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Park District has appointed Michael Gianatasio as its next executive director. Gianatasio will take over the role from Bill McAdam, who recently retired.
Gianatasio comes to Downers Grove from Homewood-Floosmoor Park District, where he served as Superinendent of Recreation. His experience also includes work with park districts in Lisle, York Center, Berwyn and Oakbrook Terrace.
He serves on the board of directors for the Illinois Park and Recreation Association and has been honored with the association's Chairman’s Award and Young Professional of the Year Award.

"I am honored to join the Downers Grove Park District and serve this vibrant community,” Gianatasio said in a statement.
He added, “I look forward to working with staff, commissioners, and residents to continue delivering exceptional parks, programs, and services while exploring new opportunities for growth and innovation.”

Gianatasio will begin his role as executive director on May 1, when he takes up the helm from McAdam, who held the role for 14 years.
