Downers Grove Police Take Part in Illinois Traffic Challenge

Downers Grove residents are asked to buckle up, obey speed limits and don't drink and drive.

Downers Grove police will be working to educate citizens on the importance of safety in a car, on a bike and as a pedestrian as part of the 2015 Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge.

Police will pair “aggressive and consistent traffic enforcement” and education to reduce traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities, according to the Village of Downers Grove.

The challenge was modeled after the National Chief’s Challenge awards, which were developed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
