Downers Grove Preps For Bonfield Express 5K

DOWNERS GROVE, IL --- Some families prefer to spend Thanksgiving morning resting up before they entertain guests. For families in Downers Grove, though, Thanksgiving morning is spent prepping to run the Bonfield Express 5K. The annual race will step off at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving, November 22.

The 5K runners will begin at the intersection of Main and Grove Streets and circle around downtown Downers Grove before making their way through the nearby Denburn Woods neighborhood. The race wraps up with runners heading downtown again through the finish line on Curtiss Street.

Early registration is $30 per person and $100 for a family of four. Runners can take advantage of the early registration fee until 10 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Participants can also register in person at Good Samaritan Wellness Center on Nov. 17 and 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you register on those days, the cost is $35 per person and $115 for a family of four.

If you miss those registration deadlines, you can still register in person on race day. At that point, the fees go up to $40 per person and family rates are not available.
