Downers Grove Student Struck By Car While Crossing Street
Police say the student was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Downers Grove teen was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car while crossing the street near Downers Grove North High School Tuesday. Police say the student was hit while in the marked crosswalk near the intersection of Main and Grant Streets, according to a preliminary investigation.
The student was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on Main Street just before 11 a.m., police said. Police say the driver stayed at the scene after the crash.
Downers Grove spokesperson Bill Budds told Patch the student is still in treatment at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Downers Grove Police Department and the F.I.A.T. Major Crash Reconstruction Team.
