DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Amid the ongoing new coronavirus shutdown, the Downers Grove Park District won't be able to hold its 2020 summer concert series in person. Luckily, the series will be shifting to a virtual format with concerts held every other Tuesday starting May 26.

Residents can tune in to the concerts via Facebook Live at 7 p.m. via the Downers Grove Park District Facebook page. The virtual summer concert series schedule is as follows:

  • May 26: The Wayouts
  • June 9: Ethan Bell Band
  • June 23: Rosie and the Rivets
  • July 7: Good Clean Fun
  • July 21: Dancing Queen
  • Aug. 4: Sushi Roll
  • Aug. 18: JK & The Jam

Darby Beasley, Community Events and Sponsorship Specialist, said in a statement, "The Downers Grove Park District’s Summer Concert Series continues to grow as a summer staple in the community. In 2019, we welcomed over 22,000 attendees to enjoy live music at Fishel Park. Although we cannot hold the concerts in person at the park this summer, we felt it was important to provide a memorable experience for families to enjoy at home during this challenging time."
