Downers Grove Trojans Vs. Hinsdale South Hornets Game Recap

The Downers Grove North Trojan Varsity Football Team shut out the Hinsdale South Hornets by a score of 28-0. Starting off the game strong, the Trojans managed to dominate possession of the ball throughout the game. Let's take a brief look at this game:

Q1:
Hornets kick off to the Trojans, who gain quite a few yards. Flags on a play prevent the Trojans from a turnover and they gain a first down at the 34th yard line in Hornet territory. With a first down David Edwards hands off the ball to Charles Creamer, #21, who bursts for a 34 yard run. Creamer is brought to his knees at the 2 yard line. With 2 yards to go and a first down, David Edwards  #8 runs it up the middle and scores the first Touchdown, breaking the score 6-0 in favor of the Trojans. Vontae Diggs #5 makes the extra point, making the score 7-0.

Q2:
Trojans maintain possession and run the ball. QB David Edwards relying on Creamer and Leto to progress into Hinsdale South Territory. With 3 yards to go, an the clock winding down, David Edwards scores yet another touchdown. After the extra point, score turns into 14-0 for the Trojans. A few minutes later, after a bad throw towards Diggs, Hinsdale South intercepts the ball in the end zone, yet is unable to pull off a point.

Q3:
Hornets' Coach Mike Barry switches QB #9 Jake Czajkowski to #5, Robert Reagan. Hornets maintain possession, yet are unable to get past the Trojan Defensive line. The clock continues to wind down.

Q4:
With 10:58 remaining in the 4th Quarter, David Edwards, #8 Drops back and throws a 36 yard pass to Vontae Diggs (#5) in the end zone. Touch Down Trojans, making the score 21-0. Later on in the quarter, Creamer sprints 22 yards into the end zone. After the extra point, the score remains 28-0 for the Trojans. Coach John Wander changes the lineup as the clock winds down.

All in all, Trojans came up on top, as predicted, although the Hornets held up a good fight. Trojans currently have a 2-0-0 record while the Hinsdale South Hornets have a 0-2-0 record. Hinsdale south will be taking on the Willowbrook Warriors (0-2-0) at home while the Trojans will be taking on the Glenbard West Hilltoppers (1-1-0) at home.
The Glenbard West Hilltoppers beat the Morton Mustangs 68-7 in their previous game.
