Drake Makes Birthday Wish Come True For Heart Patient, 11

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Sofia Sanchez knew she would be spending her 11th birthday in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant, so she decided she would celebrate in style: by inviting Drake to visit her. The Downers Grove girl, who is recovering from open heart surgery for cardiomyopathy, got the wish of a lifetime when the Canadian rapper dropped by Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's hospital while he was in Chicago for a performance Saturday.

Drake's hit song "In My Feelings" has inspired a flood of imitation videos from fans, but it was Sofia's dance video — which she performed while attached to an IV — and personal plea to Drake that caught his attention.

Instagram photos show Sofia beaming alongside Drake as they bonded over "Bieber and Owls and Basketball," Drake wrote.

Sofia is still waiting for her other wish — to get a heart transplant — to come true. For a girl so spunky and headstrong she landed a visit from Drake, we're pretty sure that luck will be on her side for that too.
