DuPage County Tops 7,600 Coronavirus Cases With 366 Deaths
The coronavirus case count includes 76 new cases since Friday.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Saturday, the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) reports 7,640 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 366 deaths. The numbers include 76 new cases since Friday. County officials say the number of positive cases is "likely much higher" due to cases that are "unreported or untested."
County health officials said four coronavirus-related deaths were reported since Friday. The DCHD did not include information about where those who died had been living or whether she had underlying conditions. They are:
- Two men in their 70s
- A man in his 80s
- A woman in her 90s
The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 118,917. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 5,330 as of Saturday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The county's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office directed Patch to the DuPage County Health Department for a breakdown of deaths by city, but the health department said it is not releasing that information as of press time.
According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. Here is the age breakdown as of Saturday evening.
- 0-9 years old: 125
- 10-19 years old: 317
- 20-29 years old: 1,100
- 30-39 years old: 1,200
- 40-49 years old: 1,300
- 50-59 years old: 1,300
- 60-69 years old: 984
- 70-79 years old: 553
- 80 years old and older: 728
