DuPage Foundation Gives $300K In Grants To Local Non-Profits
The foundation has started a coronavirus response fund to aid struggling local non-profits.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — In the midst of the new coronavirus crisis, DuPage Foundation has given $300,000 in grants to help local non-profits that are facing increased stresses during the statewide shutdown. The foundation, which started a fund to aid local organizations during this time, recently issued 21 grants to non-profits across DuPage County.
More than $100,000 in grants went to food and emergency funds for the following non-profits, which will continue to provide food and other services to those in need during the coronavirus crisis:
- Caring Network Illinois: $2,500
- Catholic Diocese of Joliet: $30,000
- College of DuPage Foundation: $20,000
- Elmhurst Walk-In Assistance Network: $10,000
- Loaves and Fishes Community Services: $20,000
- People's Resource Center: $20,000
In addition to these grants, DuPage Foundation provided a total of $68,000 in grants for mental health services at NAMI DuPage, Outreach Community Ministries and SamaraCare.

A total of $35,000 in grants went to benefit local housing services, including Bridge Communities, Inc. and DuPage PADS and $29,500 was allotted to support virtual health and education. Additionally, $10,000 was granted to Tri-Town YMCA to help provide child care for essential workers.

Barb Szczepaniak, Foundation Vice President for Programs at DuPage Foundation said in a statement, "There are so many people whose lives have been turned upside down as a result of this pandemic and our local not-for-profits are doing yeoman’s work to support them. To date we have received 69 applications totaling more than $1.3 million, which really reflects the need in our community. The Foundation will continue to do our part by securing financial resources and deploying them to the organizations that are directly assisting our DuPage neighbors."
As of press time, DuPage Foundation has raised more than $625,000 for its COVID-19 Response Fund. The DuPage Foundation says it will continue to issue grants on a rolling basis. Non-profits can click the link to apply for a grant.
