Ellie Laks

Animal behaviorist and communicator!

One of the biggest misconceptions about our pets is that they don’t have a voice. But nothing could be further from the truth, according to noted animal behaviorist and communicator Ellie Laks. Laks has been training dogs since she was 11 years old, and she has rescued, rehabilitated and found homes for hundreds of “unadoptable” dogs and cats. It’s all a matter of listening.

Although Laks clearly has a gift for what she does, she believes that better communication with our pets is a skill that can be learned and practiced by anyone. She is available to share some of her tips on bringing out your pet’s voice with your viewers/readers. Here are some topics she can address:
· Using meditation and stillness to become a better listener when it comes to your pets
· Learning to rely on our own intuition; humans are intrinsically intuitive beings, but Western culture has conditioned us to resist this
· Why/how a vegan lifestyle can improve your connection with your pet
· Understanding the sometimes surprising ways that humans and pets are alike: personalities, interests, perceptions, memories, and the need to be heard.

According to Laks, better animal communication not only strengthens bonds but will help humans recognize and resolve behavior and health issues more empathetically and quickly.

Laks is also the founder of The Gentle Barn, a non-profit animal sanctuary with three locations across the U.S. that has rescued thousands of animals nationwide.
