Midwest Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” Returns to the Historic Tivoli Stage November 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th

Downers Grove, IL — Begin the holiday season with the joyous and magical Midwest Ballet Theatre as they present their highly acclaimed annual production of Tchaikovsky’s classic, “The Nutcracker.” A holiday tradition, this special ballet performance will return to the beautiful Tivoli Theatre, for its 19th season. Performances are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1:30 PM on November 10, 11, 17, and 18, 2012, at the Tivoli, located at 5021 Highland Ave. Doors open at 12:45 p.m.


 


Danced by the unsurpassed young talent of Midwest Ballet Theatre, this year’s guest artists will once again be April Daly (Sugar Plum Fairy) and Mauro Villanueva (Cavalier), both principal dancers with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.

With over 80 performances, Midwest Ballet Theatre’s full-length production has either sold out or almost sold out every year. Based on the original late 19th Century libretto and production by Petipa, the choreography is done by MBT’s artistic director Mim Eichmann. MBT’s “Nutcracker” has become a holiday favorite among area residents and visitors alike.

Tickets are $14 – $16 and are available through the MBT website, www.midwestballet.org. Group rates are available for groups of 10+ for all performances except Sunday, November 18. Group tickets must be purchased by November 3. Tickets may be ordered with a credit card from the MBT website via the link for Brown Paper Tickets or with a check by downloading the Ticket Order Form.
