Fannie May celebrates it's Chicago heritage

Not only celebrating 100 years, but renovating and re-opening Chicago stores in Park Ridge and LaGrange.

H. Teller Archibald opened the his first retail candy store in 1920 at at 11 N. LaSalle St. in Chicago. It is there that the Fannie May story began developing candies that were always a main stay for family tradition and holidays. For decades, Mint Meltaways were a mouthwatering combination of rich mint- chocolate centers coated in chocolate or green pastel confection; a favorite in my family at Christmas. The most delicious bunnies and chocolate eggs at Easter were family gifts that I could pick out at my neighborhood Fannie May Store. And their excellence in developing over 100 confections continue on.

Store Renovations:

Fannie May is renovating stores to reflect the American chocolate shops of the 1920s. The architectural vision was inspired by the Americana style and incorporates bespoke design aesthetics to showcase the uniqueness of Fannie May recipes.

The Park Ridge & LaGrange stores, which are officially re-opening this week, are the first two shops to feature a digital canvas that demonstrates the depth of the craftmanship that goes in to producing Fannie May chocolates to guests. The centerpiece of each of these shops is a rounded, full vision chocolate case to enhance the experience of creating the perfect assortment of chocolate. In addition, Fannie May has also added seating areas for people to enjoy chocolates, coffee and ice cream.
