Fire Destroys 3rd-Floor Apartment In Naperville: FD
Two residents were evaluated for injuries, but did not need additional care, officials said.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- A Naperville family was displaced from their apartment home early Thursday after a fire broke out in a bedroom. The fire destroyed a third-floor apartment in the 1000 block of Heritage Hill Drive, according to a news release from Naperville Fire Department Bureau Chief Thomas Moran.
Moran said the fire department received several 911 calls from tenants in the multi-family residence to report the blaze at approximately 11:43 a.m.
Fire crews got to the scene minutes later and pinpointed the fire in a third-floor bedroom. All residents were able to get out safely, Moran said. He added that two residents who were evaluated for injuries did not need additional care.

Moran said the unit below the apartment that caught on fire sustained minor water damage, but was deemed habitable. Residents from the affected third-floor apartment were unable to return to their home due to fire, water, and smoke damage.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
