GoFundMe Started After Couple's Home Damaged In Downers Grove Crash

A GoFundMe has been started to benefit Niki Jones and Scott Pillsbury, whose home was damaged when a driver crashed into it Friday.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A GoFundMe has been started to benefit a Downers Grove couple whose home was damaged when a truck crashed into it Friday evening.

The incident took place around 5 p.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Briargate Drive. According to authorities, the male driver of the pickup truck may have experienced a medical emergency that caused the crash.

The man and his female passenger were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Since the crash, the Niki Jones and Scott Pillsbury, who were renting the home, have been staying in a hotel near the home, according to the GoFundMe, which was started by Jones's brother. The GoFundMe description says the couple is looking to rent an Airbnb with a kitchen while the home is being repaired.

The fundraiser has a goal of $15,000 to help the couple pay for lodging, replacement furniture and appliances and food while they are displaced from their home. Jones is immunocompromised and her medical conditions require a special diet, per the fundraising page.
