Input Sought Ahead Of Engineering Designs For Finley-Belmont At Ogden Project
The project aims to reduce congestion and improve safety on Finley Road and Belmont Roads at the Ogden Avenue intersection.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Residents are encouraged to share their input as the DuPage County Division of Transportation (DUDOT) workshops its first phase of engineering plans to improve traffic congestion and safety at the intersections of Ogden Avenue and Belmont and Finley Roads.
Between 2019 and 2023, 132 crashes were reported near the intersections of Ogden Ave, Warrenville Road and Belmont and Finley Roads. Of these, 40 percent were rear-end crashes, 21 percent were left turn crashes and 19 percent were right angle crashes, DuDOT data shows.
The project also includes a redesign of the intersection of Cross Street at Warrenville Road and Ogden Avenue. Data from DuDOT shows there were 29 crashes near these intersections between 2019 and 2023.

According to county documents, DuDOT is weighing options that include adding turning dual left turn lanes at Belmont and Ogden, building a shared-use path, updating traffic signals and signage and redesigning and resurfacing the roadways.
A public information meeting was held on June 11 to discuss the project and a community survey is underway.
