Lao Sze Chuan Reopens In Downers Grove
The highly anticipated reopening comes after a car ran into the building, resulting in an extended closure.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Lao Sze Chuan is once again welcoming diners in Downers Grove. The restaurant at 1331 Ogden Ave. recently reopened following an extended closure after a car crashed into the building.
Initially, Lao Sze Chuan had planned to reopen in October 2025, after their liquor license was approved by the village's liquor commission.
Diners packed the restaurant this weekend amid the reopening, according to a post on the My Downers Grove Facebook group.

Residents took to the comments section to express their excitement and rave about the restaurant. Julie B. wrote, "Went last night to a packed crowd! Delicious as always and so glad they are back open!"
Joe P. called it the "[B]est Chinese in the the southwest suburbs."
