Around 50 People Looted Best Buy In Downers Grove: Police
Downers Grove police said some 50 people entered the store at 1432 Butterfield Rd. Sunday, stealing items and causing damage.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are advising residents to stay home Monday after police say Best Buy at 1432 Butterfield Rd. was looted by about 50 people. The advisory comes amid unrest and protests in the Chicago area in response to the death of George Floyd.
Police say that around 4 p.m. Sunday, dozens of people entered the store, stole merchandise and caused damage. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made, according to police. The incident is under investigation.
Downers Grove police say they have increased patrols and are recommending that residents stay in their homes and call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
