Makeup July 4 Fireworks Show Planned For Oct. 2 In Downers Grove
Downers Grove will host its July 4 fireworks show Oct. 2. The event was postponed in the wake of the July 4 mass shooting in Highland Park.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove and Woodridge will present their July 4 fireworks show Oct. 2 at 7:15 p.m. The event was initially postponed due to the mass shooting that claimed four lives at Highland Park's Fourth of July Parade.
The Oct. 2 fireworks display will be held at the intersection of 75th Street and Lemont Road. Spectators can park in a nearby lot to take in the presentation.
Village officials say scheduling conflicts necessitated the late date for the rescheduled fireworks.
