Man With Alzheimer's Found: UPDATE

The 74-year-old went missing Thursday morning.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- A 74-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing Thursday has been found, police said.

Just before 2 p.m., Downers Grove police said Shamin Quershi, who cannot speak, was located MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn. He was brought in as a John Doe and was identified after hospital staff reached out to local media, according to police.

Downers Grove police said a 74-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer's has been missing since early Thursday.

Shamin Quershi, who cannot speak, was last seen at around 11 a.m. Thursday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main St., police said. They believe he may have traveled by bus to the Yorktown Mall area in Lombard.

Quershi is described as 5'8 and 180 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair and a gray beard. He was wearing a golf shirt, dark business jacket and dark pants.
