Police say the man had a handgun and several rounds of ammunition in his car.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- A man has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he was caught with a gun and ammunition in Downers Grove on April 29. Police say Jose J. Angeles, 30, of Round Lake Heights, Illinois, had a valid FOID card, but did not have a concealed carry permit. They also say they found several rounds of ammunition inside of the vehicle Angeles was driving.

According to police, a concerned resident had placed a call to report a "suspicious person, possibly with a gun," driving a silver Dodge Dakota in front of an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Saratoga Ave.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle driving south through the parking lot. Police then pulled Angeles over and searched the vehicle.
