Man Fatally Hit By Metra Train In Downers Grove: Police

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A 28-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a BNSF Metra train at the Main Street Railroad crossing in Downers Grove early Friday. Police say it appears the man walked onto the tracks between Washington and Main Streets before he was hit by a westbound BNSF train.

Police say the fatal collision took place around 2:38 a.m. The victim's name is not being released pending family notification. The incident is currently under investigation.
