Man Freely Admits to Drinking Twisted Tea On Park Bench, Cops Say
Police say man has prior history of arrests for drinking in public.

A man with a prior history of public drinking was arrested after he “freely admitted” to drinking a can of Twisted Tea on public property in downtown Downers Grove, reports said.
According to the report, Downers Grove police officers noticed Edward Colson, 50, of Lisle, sitting on a bench at the Main Street Station with a can of Twisted Tea beside him.
Police said that Colson got up a few moments later and took the can with him. Officers continue to monitor Colson, who eventually sat in the grass near Warren and Main Street. After taking several sips from the can, officers approached moved in, police said.

Colson “freely admitted to drinking the beverage,” the report said.
Police said that Colson has had similar violations drinking in a public place. He was placed under arrest and released on an I-bond, with a court date pending.
