Man Robs Bank In Downers Grove, Schools Put On Lockdown
Schools were on lockdown Thursday as the FBI and police used canines to hunt for a man who robbed US Bank at 1048 Ogden in Downers Grove.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL ā The FBI is investigating a bank robbery that took place in Downers Grove Thursday afternoon. The suspect reportedly robbed the US Bank at 1048 Ogden Avenue at approximately 1:35 p.m.
Local police responded to the call with K-9 patrol units in an effort to track down the suspect, the Village of Downers Grove said in an online statement. According to a description on the FBI website, Bandit Tracker, the suspect is a black male in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5'9" tall, weighing roughly 160 pounds. In surveillance video from the robbery, the suspect is wearing a black dress shirt with a gray tie. His face is obscured by sunglasses and he wore a black hat with a Nike logo. He has closely cropped facial hair.
After the US Bank robbery, schools in Downers Grove were placed on lockdown as law enforcement completed their K-9 search of the surrounding area, according to the village's statement.
