Man Sexually Abused Girl In Downers Grove Park: State's Atty.
He pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a girl, 16, that he knew.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Summit man pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a "female acquaintance," 16, in a Downers Grove park in 2017. Anthony Nemeth, 28, of the 7500 block of 58th St., Summit, was sentenced to five and a half years for what DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin called "his sick sexual desires."
Police were first alerted to the incident in October 2017 after the victim's parents reported the abuse to Downers Grove Police. Authorities began an investigation that led them to Nemeth and a warrant was issued for his arrest on March 1.
Nemeth turned himself in on March 1 and has been in custody at DuPage County Jail since then.

Berlin thanked the DuPage County Children's Center and Downers Grove Police Department for their help with the case. He said, "This afternoon, Mr. Nemeth learned that for sexually abusing a sixteen-year-old girl just to satisfy his sick sexual desires he will spend the next five and one-half years behind bars where he will be unable to prey upon innocent girls."
Nemeth must serve 50% of his sentence before he becomes eligible for parole. He will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
