Max Logan's Grand Opening Flushed Away by Renegade Toilet

Cracked toilet on second floor of building caused flooding in store, forced to close.

Max Logan's Home Accents opened for all of three days this week before a cracked toilet ruined the shop's plans to have a grand opening during .

The store, which occupies the old location on Curtiss and Main, quietly opened on Tuesday with a soft opening in anticipation of a larger opening during this weekend's . When a tenant's toilet on the 2nd floor of the building cracked and started flooding sometime overnight yesterday into this morning, those plans were altered.

The cracked toilet caused flooding into Max Logan's and now the carpet and ceiling have to be replaced, according to Erin Gurney, the daughter of store owner Ruth Gurney.The hope now is to re-open in three weeks.
