Midnight at the Tivoli Series Returns June 26 With "Top Gun"

The Tivoli Theatre will host a special midnight screening of "Top Gun" on Friday, June 26, 2015

DOWNERS GROVE - The Tivoli Theatre will host a special midnight screening of “Top Gun” on Friday, June 26, 2015. The digitally remastered screening of “Top Gun” kicks off a return of the Midnight at the Tivoli series, which will be held on the last Friday of each month.

“A number of guests had requested a return of the ‘Midnight At The Tivoli’ series so we decided that the summer months was an ideal time to bring back this popular program,” explains Linda Smith, general manager of the Tivoli Theatre. Admission to the midnight showings is $5 per person, and tickets are available at the Tivoli Box Office, 5021 Highland Avenue, Downers Grove, or online at www.classiccinemas.com.

“Top Gun” (PG/110 min) stars Devil-may-care navy pilot Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise), who is sent to Miramar Naval Air Station for advanced training. He vies with Tom Kasansky (Val Kilmer) for the coveted “Top Gun” award and carries on a romance with civilian consultant Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis). Shaken up by the death of a friend, Mitchell loses the Top Gun honor to Kasansky. Worried that he may have lost his nerve, Mitchell is given a chance to redeem himself during a tense international crisis involving a crippled US vessel and a flock of predatory enemy planes.
