Midwestern University, Benedictine University Establish New Healthcare Education Pathways

Midwestern University and Benedictine University have established a new admissions articulation agreement that creates expanded pathways for qualified Benedictine University students pursuing graduate and professional education in the health sciences.

Beginning with students matriculating at Midwestern University in fall 2027, qualified Benedictine University applicants who meet program-specific criteria will be eligible for guaranteed interview opportunities for select Midwestern University healthcare programs. Qualified applicants to Midwestern University’s College of Graduate Studies programs in Biomedical Sciences may receive guaranteed acceptance.

The agreement includes programs at Midwestern University’s Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glendale, Arizona campuses in biomedical sciences, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, nurse anesthesia, and veterinary medicine. Physician assistant studies is included at the Downers Grove, Illinois campus.

To qualify for opportunities under the agreement, Benedictine students must meet the academic and admissions requirements established for their program of interest. General requirements include completion of required prerequisite coursework, the ability to meet program technical standards, healthcare-related and shadowing experience, and demonstrated interest in and understanding of their chosen healthcare profession. Individual programs have additional requirements related to grade point average, application deadlines, standardized tests, patient-contact experience, or other admissions criteria.
