Monarch Festival To Feature Butterfly Talks, Crafts, Stories
The 2021 Monarch Festival will offer family-friendly activities and informational talks Sept. 13-18 in Westmont.
WESTMONT, IL — Summer may be coming to a close, but kids and kids-at-heart can still have fun and celebrate the great outdoors at Westmont Public Library's upcoming 2021 Monarch Festival. The festival features monarch-themed virtual talks, crafts, stories and other activities starting Sept. 13.
Sept. 13
Master Gardener and naturalist Pat Miller will host a YouTube talk to share facts about monarch butterflies. Miller will teach viewers about how monarchs live and migrate during the virtual talk. Click the link to access the Pat Miller Monarch Butterfly Talk Sept. 13 at 10 a.m.

Sept. 15
At 6:30 p.m., members of the Conservation Foundation will give a presentation about monarch butterfly habitats and the significance of conserving and maintaining them. Adults can also pick up their own take-and-make crafts in the library lobby starting Sept. 15.

Sept. 17
Starting Sept. 17, there will be a monarch-themed StoryWalk at Diane Main Park, 200 W 59th St. that families can explore throughout the weekend.
Sept. 18
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Ty Warner Park, 801 Burr Oak Dr., for a family-friendly event that features arts and crafts, coloring and self-guided story time.
