Mundy Still Vacant, Two New Businesses to Open Downtown

Children's store and cafe to hopefully open in time for the holidays.

No updates yet on the future of the Muriel Mundy space on the corner of Main and Curtiss.

Six different businesses have checked out the Muriel Mundy space, but nothing has been settled or decided, according to Linda Kunze, Executive Director of the . Additionally, two contracts have been turned down by the building's owner, as the owner continues to look for the right fit, Kunze said. The only near definite is the space won't be occupied by a restaurant.

However, two new businesses are hoping to open their doors in time for the holidays, according to Kunze.

Posh Kids, 5116b Main Street, an upscale children's resale shop, is working to open its doors in the space behind and next to the . The location will be adjacent to the library, and according to Kunze, they are currently in the process of putting in doors and windows. They hope to open on December 1.

The other business coming soon is Smokey Tomato Cafe and Catering, 1028 Curtiss Street. The space is located between the and on Curtiss.
