Music, Parade, Food Trucks Set For Park District's 75-Year Bash
The Downers Grove Park District will ring in its 75th anniversary with local musicians, games, a Zorb ball track, a parade and much more.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Park District is planning to ring in its 75th anniversary in style. Slated for May 14, the Big Bash 75th Anniversary Celebration will feature live music, food trucks, a parade, a Zorb ball track, contests and much more at McCullom Park.
The event runs from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Booths will be open from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to give visitors a chance to enjoy interactive games, sports and arts and crafts. Other fun activities planned for the bash include:
- Zorb ball track
- 90-foot obstacle course
- Bags tournament
- Free throw competition
- Giant yard games (chess, checkers, etc.)
- Scavenger hunt
- Water balloon toss
- Free miniature golf at Miner Mike’s Adventure Golf
- Free outdoor fitness classes offered by 4500 Fitness
Live music will keep the energy high throughout the day. In addition to DJ tunes, visitors can rock out to the following acts:

- 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Liz and Hala performing acoustic guitar music
- 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.: Miss Jamie's Farm performing children's tunes
- 5 p.m.: Feel Good Party Band performing party tunes from the 1960s to present
At 4:30 p.m., a birthday parade will make its way around McCullom Park. Guests are encouraged to dress up and bring their pets, wagons and tricycles to march in the parade and have a chance to win prizes.

“Downers Grove Park District is thrilled to celebrate our 75th Anniversary in a big way on May 14!" Darby Beasley, Community Events and Sponsorship Specialist for the park district said in a news release.
Beasley added, "The Big Bash will highlight the wide array of recreation programs and services that the park district offers—past to present. We look forward to welcoming the community to enjoy a day filled with fun and memories."
