Phone Stolen, Cars Burglarized At X-Sport Fitness Downers Grove

Police say a theft and two car burglaries were reported at XSport Fitness at 3200 Finley Rd. in Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police are looking for suspects involved in three separate incidences of theft and burglary at XSport Fitness in Downers Grove. The thefts and burglaries occurred between Dec. 2 and Dec. 8 at the gym at 3200 Finley Rd., police said. In each case, the offender(s) stole phones, bank cards, and cash.

The first reported theft took place on Dec. 2, according to police. The victim reported that they arrived at the gym at 7:41 p.m. to play basketball. When they left the gym at 8:55 p.m., they retrieved their items from the locker and discovered their wallet was missing. According to the police report, the wallet contained a driver's license, a bank card, and $60 cash.

On Dec. 8, a gym member told police that their iPhone had been stolen from their locker, which had been secured with a combination lock. According to the police report, the victim said that when they returned to the locker the lock was still secured and there were no signs of entry. The total loss was estimated at $300.

Later on Dec. 8, police responded to a report of vehicle burglary at the same location. The victim told police their keys were missing from their unsecured locker when they got back to the locker room. Police say the victim went to the parking lot and found their 2013 Volkswagen had been unlocked and $180 cash had been stolen from their wallet. A child later found the keys in the XSport Fitness parking lot.
