DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- Downtown Downers Grove always held a special place in Linda Kunze's heart. Kunze, who died in September, spent two decades serving as executive director of the Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation. To honor Kunze's service to downtown Downers Grove, village officials recently dedicated a plaza in her memory.

The plaque that marks Linda Kunze Plaza outside the Main Street Train Station reads "[Kunze] contributed so much and in so many lasting ways to the success of our wonderful Downtown."

Kunze was instrumental to the growth and development of downtown Downers Grove. She helped bring many important events to life, including Founder's Day and the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
