Son Stabs Mom To Death In Downers Grove, Reports Say
DuPage County Sheriff's Office still won't comment on the death in the 2100 block of 63rd St. in unincorporated Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Caution tape surrounded a home in unincorporated Downers Grove Wednesday as DuPage County Police investigated a death. Patch is hearing reports from multiple sources that the victim was murdered in a fatal stabbing in the 2100 block of 63rd St. The Daily Herald reports that a source told them a mother was stabbed to death by her son.
DuPage County Sheriff's Office would not confirm the cause of death and provided no details. Sergeant Bob Harris told Patch the community is not at risk.
According to the Daily Herald, the son is currently in custody.

After news of the death broke, community members were stunned. On Facebook, one resident commented, "Passed by the scene and it's a sad feeling! So close to home."
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office sent an update Wednesday saying it did not have additional information to release. They expect to have more details Thursday.
