WEDNESDAY, Nov. 13

Attempted Retail Theft and Battery at Pro Jersey

Nicki C. Kemp, 23, Chicago was charged with attempted retail theft and battery after she attempted to steal jerseys Nov. 13 from Pro Jersey Sports, 1510 75th St., Downers Grove. Kemp was observed by an employee to be bending down and putting an item in her purse. She was confronted and began to run toward the exit of the store. The employee got there first and locked it, but Kemp pushed the employee away from the door with the back of her body, unlocked it, and ran through the parking lot across 75th St. toward Brunswick Zone. An officer traveling along 75th St. apprehended her.

Catalytic Converter Stolen at Good Sam

A worker at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove reported that his catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle during the day while he was at work Nov. 13. There are no suspects.

TUESDAY, Nov. 12

Retail Theft at Best Buy

The loss prevention officer at Best Buy, 7401 Lemont Road, Downers Grove, reported Nov. 12 that someone told him a young male was observed concealing items on his person in the bathroom of the store. While walking toward the bathroom to check it out, he saw the young male sprint straight out the exit door before being stopped. He got away in a gray 4 door Chevy Cavalier.
