Woman Harrassed at Football Game

A woman told police she was watching her husband's semi-pro football team play at Doerhoeffer Park, 3920 Saratoga Ave., when a man and woman from the other team made alarming statements to her. The man said something to the effect of, “I'm going to wait by your husband's car. He's going to get hurt,” according to the police report. When the victim told the couple to leave, the woman with the man said, “You better watch what you say; that will get you killed.” The couple were gone when police arrived, but the woman pointed out other players from the team who were still in the park. The police identified the men and found that one of them was a registered sex offender out of Joliet. Downers Grove police asked Joliet police if there were any stipulations prohibiting the man from being in the park near children. The Joliet police said there were no restrictions.
