Police Investigating Attempted Armed Robbery

Downers Grove police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place at International Beauty Supply, 2263 Maple Ave., around 4 p.m. Jan. 17. 

The suspect flashed a firearm during the robbery attempt, before fleeing on foot before officers arrived. The alleged offender is described as a man, approximately 5-foot-10, of medium build, wearing a jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt. He was wearing a black, crochet scarf with black gloves.

No one was injured during the incident and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information regarding the incident or who may have information on the suspect is asked to call 9-1-1.
