Police Seek Public's Help In Locating Missing Downers Grove Man

The Downers Grove Police Department is requesting the public’s help in attempting to locate a missing 20-year-old man who has been missing since Tuesday evening.

The missing man, Michael J. Vlna, was last seen leaving his home in the 6800 block of Penner on foot around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael was reported missing by his family on Wednesday after he failed to show up for morning classes at 10 a.m. at the Transition 99 Center School, 4232 Venard, in Downers Grove.

Michael is developmentally disabled and functions at a third-fourth grade level. He is 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 236 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a dark sweatshirt with gray sleeves and hood, dark jeans, and light gray gym shoes. Michael wears black rimmed glasses and was carrying a green backpack.
