Suspect Fled Area After Man Shot in Downers Grove Near Maple and Belmont: Police
A man was shot on the 2300 block of Maple Avenue in Downers Grove. DuPage County Sheriff's Office said the suspect fled the area.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A man was shot on the 2300 block of Maple Avenue in Downers Grove Monday, police said. The DuPage County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 2:45 p.m. When Patch arrived at the scene of the incident, police tape was wrapped around a psychic and astrology center. The DuPage County Sheriff's police said the suspect fled the area after the shooting, but that there is no danger to residents and that the victim and suspect were acquainted.
The shooting victim was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Original Story: Early reports of a shooting in Downers Grove were circulating Monday afternoon, according to a Tweet from NBC 5 around 4:35 p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Village of Downers Grove announced via Twitter that Maple was closed in both directions between Belmont and Elinor due to police activity. As of 5:15 p.m., Maple was re-opened for traffic in both directions, according to the village.

Aerial video from Fox 32 Chicago showed heavy police activity at a building near Chase and Maple. Signs on the building advertise an astrology center and psychic readings.
