Public Inivted to Open House to Review Updated Floodplain Maps

The open house will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. July 29 in Wheaton.

Downers Grove residents are invited to an open house July 29 to review updated preliminary floodplain maps, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The open house will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. July 29 in Wheaton at the DuPage County Government Center, Jack T. Knuepfer Building, Auditorium, 421 County Farm Road, according to the Village of Downers Grove.

“The purpose of the open house is to review the preliminary maps, present the Flood Insurance Study reports and discuss the process of reviewing and adopting the documents, as well as to solicit public comments,” the village announced.

Representatives from the Illinois State Water Survey, FEMA and DuPage County will be at the open house to answer questions about the preliminary floodplain maps.
