Weighted blankets have taken over the wellness audience, offering people cozy comfort that can not only help them sleep better but make a positive difference on their mental health. But when duty calls in the morning, it’s not very practical to wear a blanket cape all day in order to sustain that feeling in public.

Riderz offers the mental hug that people need throughout the day and are designed to travel wherever people go, whether that be in cupholders in cars, backpack side netting, strollers, sport chairs, or sitting upright on work desks or even plane trays.

Riderz™ were “discovered” by Dr. Shannon Beardsley. Shannon's daughter Eva loved to bring a stuffed animal with her on trips in the car. Typically, like so many children, they always seemed to end up on the floor or under a seat where they would get dirty and pick up germs. His car has several cupholders and he often had the thought: “Wouldn’t it be cool if she could have a stuffed animal specifically designed to ride in the cupholder where she could grab it whenever she wanted”. And he so he bought the materials needed and created the animals. His daughter's friends at school asked how they could get a cupholder stuffed animal.

Shannon showed Eva’s cupholder companion to his friend Kurt Walchle who has been an entrepreneur in lifestyle products for many years. Kurt has 3 young kids and liked the idea. He showed it to his kids and all three of them LOVED it! Kurt saw the potential, joined Dr. Beardsley.
