Morning Rush Hour Road Closures for Minimum Wage Protest in Oak Brook
Some northbound lanes on Jorie Boulevard will be closed for a minimum wage protest Wednesday. Other lane closures may take place.
OAK BROOK, IL — Some roads will be closed or partially closed Wednesday during rush hour for a protest demanding higher minimum wage in Oak Brook. The Service Employees International Union will stage a march and protest to demand minimum wage of at least $15 an hour for fast food restaurant employees.
The minimum wage protest will take place from approximately 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24. Sun-Times reports that the demonstration will close northbound lanes of Jorie Boulevard from Forest Gate to Kensington as protesters head north on Jorie.
Police also say southbound lanes may be closed on Janes Boulevard depending on the route of the minimum wage protest.
