School Bus Hits Light Pole, Which Falls On 2nd Bus In Downers Grove

Three students sustained minor injuries when a District 58 school bus hit a light pole, which fell onto another bus Tuesday morning.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Three students sustained minor injuries Tuesday after a Downers Grove Grade School District 58 school bus hit a light pole, causing the pole to fall onto another bus.

Downers Grove Deputy Police Chief Jim McGreal told Patch the crash took place in the 6400 block of Woodward Avenue around 8 a.m.

McGreal said the bus driver had turned right onto Woodward from Loomis and hit the pole. The pole fell onto the roof of a bus that had been "right behind" the first, he said.
